Elixir31012 is an experimental accessory brand and an art-based new media platform, founded in 2023 by 3D artist Xu Jing and sound artist Xia Jiyun. Both graduated in 2023 from the Royal College of Art with a focus on fashion. Elixir31012 creates a nonlinear temporal world through virtual animation, experimental music, wearable devices, and performances. Elements like cyborgs, mythology, and rituals are intertwined in their work.
The name Elixir31012 is derived from the Daoist concept of “Elixir” (which is seen as the Eastern equivalent of alchemy). The number 3 represents synthesis, the number 10 represents the sacred, and the number 12 represents the eternal cycle.
